The Joy of a Child
The Joy of Child
Isn't it wonderful how, as a child, the tiniest of creatures can bring you the most joy. It brings you so much joy, that you will search out the darkest corners of a home or tree in order to find and catch these little creatures. Ok, not everyone finds joy in lizards and bugs, but everyone has that one thing that made life appear magical and beautiful. As you get older though, the magic and excitement you see in these creatures seem to diminish over time. The same can be said in our spiritual walks. We experience the joy and wonder of Christ as we initially learn of the amazing love he has for us and the sacrifice that he made. Then, as time moves on and life distracts us, the joy and wonder begins to fade. We often experience a spiritual high, followed by spiritual hollowness and complacency. Meditate daily on what you mean to Christ and what he has done for us all. Do not lose that child-like joy and wonder in our creator. Be at awe for his glory and holiness!
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. - Psalm 43-4
