Make A Difference!

Are you interested in becoming a part of our group? SEAKERS welcomes divers of all levels to join our organization. You do not even have to be a certified diver. Our outreach programs require assistance both on the deck and in the water. Help us outfit divers, carry equipment, organize volunteers, or assist adaptive divers getting in the water. We can even train certified divers to be a buddy to an adaptive diver that may have limited physically abilities. From those who just want to lend a hand at our next scuba experience, to certified scuba divers, to divemasters, to instructors, we have a need.

In this short video, Executive Director, Shannon McAteer, shares with the congregation of Crossroads Church the impact volunteers have had on the growth of our organization.

SEAKERS' goal is to develop lasting relationships. Our mission statement states that “we use the platform of education and experience to develop an ever-growing group of mentors who in turn continue the cycle of assisting and building up others.” SEAKERS does not exist to simply churn out a new crop of scuba divers with each course we teach. To us, quality supersedes quantity. That is why we offer a limited number of courses each year. By focusing our time on creating a fostering relationship with each new student, we hope to develop not just a new scuba diver but also a mentor who will reach out to the next person in line. We focus on outreach and fellowship. We use scuba diving as a tool to accomplish our mission.
