Living Water

When an object is less dense than water, the force of the water pushing the object up exceeds the force that gravity holds on that object, this is called buoyancy. This weekend, we have an the opportunity to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the associated hope and victory over sin that comes with it. When we choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the force of the Living Water pushing us up exceeds the force that sin has in our lives, a sort of spiritual buoyancy! This is why we celebrate, because without the freedom from our sins that Jesus provides, we would never float to the service and live in the light. Perhaps, this is why Jesus made his disciples "Fishers of Men", because before Jesus, we swim in darkness, after Jesus, we live in the light.

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" John 7:37-38
